THE CHURCH ROOMS

These are situated next to the Abbey and comprise a large hall, fully-equipped kitchen and toilets. Many different groups meet here: the Youth Group, the Toddlers Fellowship, Open Gate (Stroke) Club, Christian Aid, the Sunday School, Parish parties, Jumble and Book Sales, Sunday morning coffee, entertaining, meetings and much more.
They can also be booked for weddings and other Abbey-related social occasions. Please contact the webmaster for further details.

THE ABBEY ITSELF

The Abbey hosts several concerts a year. Regular visitors include the Romsey Singers, Romsey Choral Society, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the City of Southampton Orchestra. In January 2000, in addition, we hosted a concert by the Monteverdi Choir and English Baroque Soloists, conducted by Sir John Eliot Gardiner, an early date in their year-long Bach Cantata Pilgrimage tour.

It is also used as a recording venue; one recent CD recorded in the Abbey that won critical acclaim is that of the Rutter Requiem by Polyphony conducted by Stephen Layton.

Concerts are usually promoted under the auspices of Music in Romsey.    If you wish to make a commercial recording, however, please contact the Vicar via the Parish Office.
