Take a virtual tour

The Abbey is a fascinating place steeped in history.  This virtual tour gives only a flavour of a real visit and is not designed to show everything - Why not come and experience the real thing?

God has been worshipped on this site for over a thousand years and in this building for 850 of them.  It is a place sanctified by the prayers of generations of Christians.  It is a place of prayer and pilgrimage today.  It is the living house of prayer for the people of the town and parish of Romsey.  We hope that you will enjoy your visit to the Abbey and that you will receive something of its peace, tranquility and stability.

Tour guides are available to provide a wonderful array of interesting facts, if required, or even better why not come to a service to worship and find out about God, meet the people who worship here and discover the reasons why this wonderful building has been so well used for such a long time!

Most people arrive at the abbey on the north side of the church from the centre of Romsey with the Heritage centre and museum behind them.  High above, the clock keeps time for the people of Romsey, or thereabouts!  It is said to be one minute fast.

Two of our stewards who can show you around and provide information.

Our guide for today is Elizabeth Hammond who was one of the Head Choristers in the Romsey Abbey Girls' Choir and took many of the pictures.  Click on Elizabeth to move on.
