Girls Choir update

Contributed by Elizabeth Hammond

The girls choir have been exceptionally busy in the first half of this term. The Harvest Festival was a huge success and we look forward to our next gig at the Sung Eucharist where we will be joining the men from the Abbey Choir for a show that cant be missed!

Currently, the most exciting news is our first appearance on the new Abbey Choir CD and to be the Glory where the girls recorded Cantate Domino in conjunction with the main choir, a piece commissioned by Ian Schofield for the dedication of the Nave Organ.

Unfortunately, we have to wish a sad farewell to Jenna Williams, a founder member of the choir. She is one of the original fifteen girls, who over the last six years has dedicated much time and effort to the choir. We all wish Jenna good luck and the very best in the future. Finally I would like to welcome back all the chapesses and I hope this year will be as successful as our last!

Daphne Lindsell writes: we are looking forward to making our début in our new cassock-style dresses in December provided that they are all made in time!
