Choral Evensong on Saturday 4 May, was sung by the Choir of Winchester Cathedral, under the direction of their Organist, David Hill. It followed a masterclass organised by the Winchester and District Organists Association.

The music – superbly sung – comprised the Responses set by Richard Lloyd, the New College Service by Herbert Howells and the three Latin Motets by Sir Charles Villiers Stanford: Justorum animae; Beati quorum via integra est; and Cœlos ascendit hodie. It was very interesting for members of the Abbey Choir to appreciate the acoustic in which we sing from seats in the congregation on this occasion.
