We are singing in Wells Cathedral this week.
Each summer we spend a week at a different cathedral; last summer took us to the north of England in association with the walk along Hadrian’s Wall organised by George’s Trust, founded in memory of former chorister George O’Brien.
‘This year’s visit takes us to what is probably the closest cathedral where we would stay away – we have previously taken day trips to sing at Salisbury and Winchester‘, says Romsey Abbey’s Director of Music, Robert Fielding.
‘Following a more intensive routine of morning and afternoon practices, as well as singing a service each day, is great experience for the boys. I always notice a marked improvement over the course of the week’.
We would be delighted to be joined by friends from Romsey or further afield; Choral Evensong takes place each evening at 5.15 pm; Sunday services start at 9.45am, 11.30am and 3 pm. Wells is just over 60 miles from Romsey.
