Open Day – bring your family and friends!

Mock baptism of teddy bear by Vicar at Romsey Abbey

Saturday 24 September, 10am – 3pm

You’re warmly invited to join us for our Open Day, which offers fun for all the family and a great opportunity to discover all we have to offer.

Our theme this year is Christening and Tim, our Vicar, will be on hand to christen and marry your childrens’ teddies. Elsewhere in the Abbey, for the more active little bear, we’ll once again be organising zip-wire rides!

For older children, there’s the opportunity to take part in science experiments, to help us build a bug house and take part in, or help with, lots of craft activities.

Our boy and girl choristers will be on hand to sing for you, and your children will have the opportunity of singing with them – perhaps your youngsters might be interested in joining our choir? It’s now one of the largest of its kind in the country.

Free guided tours of both the Abbey and bell tower will be available. We hope you’ll also enjoy our display of christening gowns.

Bring your children and their teddies – or just come along anyway – and enjoy free coffee, biscuits and a happy atmosphere.

We’d also love you to come to our 10am Sung Eucharist on Sunday 25 September – it’s a special one for Back to Church Sunday.
