On: Monday 24 July 7.30pm
At: All Saints Church, North Baddesley
By: Revd Andrew Ashdown
Andrew visited Syria several times prior to the current conflict, and has visited the country seven times since April 2014. Last December he was one of a tiny handful of Europeans present in Aleppo as the city was retaken, and most recently, he spent most of the month of May this year in Syria. He has travelled independently throughout the country meeting with members of all communities; with faith, civic and political leaders; and witnessing the realities on the ground, including areas most impacted by the conflict.. Andrew is currently undertaking doctoral research at Winchester University exploring the subject of ‘Christian-Muslim relations in Syria’.
During this evening, Andrew will give an introductory presentation on the faith context of Syria; of the changing realities on the ground during the conflict; and of the wider implications for us all.
There will then be plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion. All are welcome.
