November 2018 Events and Services for Remembrance and Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the end of WW1

Romsey Abbey Primary School Remembrance Service.
Sunday 11th November 9.30am
Civic Service followed by procession to Romsey War Memorial Park for 11am Act of Remembrance. There will be copies of the booklet ‘Silence’ available to all attending the service, to be used for reflection.
On Sunday 11th November, the Abbey Bellringers plan to ring half-muffled for the 9.30am service with open ringing at 12.30pm for the national ‘Ringing Remembers’ campaign.

Choral Evensong service including ‘Cry for Peace’ given by Terry Hamer, Romsey Town Crier.

A Concert to Remember the Great War
To include, Patricia Hammond – mezzo soprano, poetry and readings by students and guests of Romsey School and songs from Romsey Male Voice Choir.
Saturday 17th November 7.30pm
Peace and Reconciliation Concert
Hampshire County Youth Orchestra and the Choir of the Liebigschule Giessen, Germany, will perform Mozart’s Requiem and more.
Sunday 18th November 3pm
A Thanksgiving Civic Service
Including Michelmersh Silver Band, solo violin and ‘A Pause for Thought’ given by Major General Patrick Cordingley, DSO OBE.
At St Swithun’s, Crampmoor

Remembrance Sunday Holy Communion with Act of Remembrance outside at the end of the service.
