We are delighted to have informally announced that Revd Sally Womersley has been offered and accepted the post of Associate-Priest in this parish. Sally is currently vicar of Church Church, Milton-next-Gravesend in the Rochester Diocese. This appointment is subject to a range of statutory checks and clearances before it can be made formal. Sunday 5th January 2020, 10 am. At this service, we celebrate Epiphany, with the Three Kings. It will also mark the launch of the celebrations of 900 years of our Norman Abbey Church. As we think about the gifts of the Three Kings and the Gift of the Abbey, we also collect gifts that supporters of the Romsey Children’s Society will distribute throughout the year to the following groups: Romsey Young Carers, Family Support Group, Youth in Romsey and Allsorts Disability Group. Donations of new and unwrapped gifts are appreciated which will be offered up during this service. Have you to hours a month to spare? The Abbey values its choirs and the contribution they make to the worship of our services. However, we do need a few more occasional volunteers willing to do a chaperone duty once or twice a month at our young choristers’ rehearsals and services to ensure that we are operating a best practice policy and the legal obligations. We are looking for around 15 older people (those with life experience) to take part in an intergenerational project with pupils from Romsey Abbey Primary School on Thursday 23rd January 2019  2 pm – 3.15 pm. The aim is to bring together older and younger people for a time of listening and learning and to share experiences of what it was like to grow up as a child in different generations.
