Sunday 11th October 2020, we celebrate Harvest Thanksgiving in the Abbey. We are looking forward to welcoming Andy Lester as a guest speaker for the 9.30 am Parish Eucharist. Andy is the Head of Conservation of ‘A Rocha UK’ (ARUK) a Christian Charity working for the protection and restoration of the natural world, committed to mobilising Christians and churches in the UK to care for the environment. Sunday 27th September 2020, 11.15am Launched in March 2020, Abbey Vine has been suspended during COVID-19 but now returns! Click here to book. You are most welcome to join us for worship in the Abbey. We’re looking forward to the arrival of the ‘creativity in captivity quilt’. The squares created all around the country have been brought together into a quilt to reflect the thoughts, feelings and experiences of the makers during lockdown. It will be set up and available to view in the Abbey on Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th September. The project is being run in support of the charity Refuge, raising funds for the survivors of domestic abuse. The Abbey is open 11am – 3pm but please allow time to set the quilt up on Saturday morning and dismantle on Sunday afternoon. Access to the Abbey isMore »
We are now starting to re-schedule all the baptisms that were postponed due to COVID-19, but, like everything else there are some changes and things look a bit different from the way they were before. We don’t know at this point how long these changes will be in place. We are continuing to schedule baptisms on the second and fourth Sundays of each month. however, the changes are as follows: Baptisms can have a maximum of 12 adults attending as well as children. Initial plans are being made for the Abbey’s major fundraising event of the year. The Christmas Fair is planned for Saturday 28th November and will be held in the Abbey this year to allow for Social Distancing. Watch this space! More »
August Parish Tea raised £132.60 and coffee on Sunday 30th August raised £22.70, so a total of £155.30 to parish funds. Thank you to all the bakers, helpers and everyone who came. More »
