An evening with Ensemble DeNOTE – Beethoven, Brahms, Hadow and Schubert.
The programme includes ‘Brahm’s late F minor Sonata Op.120 no.1 with the G major Sonata by his English pupil, Sir William Henry Hadlow – written in a distinctively Brahmisian style. Hadow was a major writer on music and an educationalist of international renown. Also on the bill are Carl Baermann’s arrangements for clarinet and piano of some of Schubert’s most popular Lieder; a selection of Schubert’s ‘Moments Musicaux’ for solo piano; and Beethoven’s Piano Sonata in E minor, Op.90.’
