Sincere thanks to all who generously donated items for the Christmas Fair, on Saturday 2nd December 2017, including all stall holders for their hard work, for all those that supported and attended the event. It was a wonderful team effort which resulted in a friendly, happy and successful fair which raised a record breaking sum of almost £6,000. We are delighted to be involved in the Church of England’s trial of Contactless Donation Points – the GoodBox. Our GoodBox is situated by the Abbey’s North Door and is simple to use. It currently accepts £5 donations by contactless card payment. It is hoped that this will encourage many visitors to give more easily to support the upkeep and mission of the Abbey. George’s Trust Christmas Concert – Friday 1st December 2017, 7pm at Romsey Abbey Begin the Christmas season by joining us for an evening of music and song performed by young talented musicians from local youth choirs and bands. Admission is free with all donations to George’s Trust.More »

The only donations now needed are many mince pies, copious amounts of cakes and batches of biscuits for the day of the Fair. The Romsey Parish Christmas cards for 2017 have been designed by Hampshire artist Wendy Bramall. The full colour cards, depict the Abbey viewed through the Jubilee Gates with glowing lights within, which reflect the snow covered ground. They are printed in Hampshire on paper obtained from responsible sources. Packs of 5 cards are on sale in the Abbey or after the 10am Sunday morning service during coffee. They are also available at Oasis and the Romsey Visitor Information Centre. A draw is also being held to win the original watercolour (measuring 26 x 26 cms, which has been mounted & framed). Thank you to everyone that donated food for the Harvest Thanksgiving services at St Swithun’s and Romsey Abbey. The sale of food donations and produce at St Swithun’s raised £107.50 towards Romsey Foodbank and the goods from the Abbey weighed in at 113.59kg. This is very much appreciated by Romsey Foodbank. We are still seeking a volunteer to collect the donations weekly from the Abbey and deliver to the Foodbank on Mondays between 1pm – 3pm.
