Romsey Abbey under broken cloud in snow

Come and join us on our Advent journey as we enter into the spirit of the Christmas season with a wealth of carol services and concerts.

Advent Sunday falls on 2 December and, at 6.30pm, our candlelit Advent Procession service sets the scene for the festive season.

This year, for the first time, we are holding two Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols services – carols, readings and hymns are the same for both. They take place on Wednesday 19 December and Sunday 23 December, and both start at 6.30pm.

Tickets for the extra 2pm screening of the classic animated film for children, The Snowman, are currently on sale. The three screenings take place during the afternoon of 22 December, and feature an Abbey Chorister and live accompaniment by the Romsey Sinfonietta. The screenings at 3.30pm and 5pm sold out on the day when tickets were released.

We recommend early arrival on Christmas Eve for the Blessing of the Crib, which starts at 4pm; and the Midnight Mass, starting at 11.30pm.

Our main service on Christmas Day, the Sung Eucharist, is at 10am with activities for children in St Anne’s Chapel.

Some of these services are being livestreamed and made available to watch afterwards.
