Saturday 19th August 2017 South Garth at the Abbey 10am – 3pm Free event with activities and stalls and information Romsey Abbey’s Environment Group plan to recognise World Honey Bee Day, with both activities and information to raise awareness about how to protect bees. Hosted outside in the Abbey’s South Garth from 10am to 3pm, there will be free activities including face painting, build-a-bee house, local bee keepers and stalls selling bee related products. The Abbey will be holding a SOCIAL EVENING in St Nicholas’ Chapel at 7:30pm on Tuesday 5th September. This is primarily for people who have joined the congregation in the last 12-18 months. If that’s you, do please come along. It’s a great way to get to know some of the clergy and lay staff and to find out more about some of our activities and volunteering opportunities. As our choir take a summer break, we welcome The Royston Priory Singers this weekend to sing: Choral Evensong – 5.30pm on Saturday 29th July, Sung Eucharist – 10am and Choral Evensong 6.30pm both on Sunday 30th July. The Royston Priory Singers were founded in 2000 when Richard Prince, their director, left the post of organist and choirmaster at the Parish Church. The choir has sung at many cathedrals either for a week in summer or for a weekend. The most recent visit was to Southwark Cathedral where the choir gave lunchtime concert consisting of music written by Richard. Do join us. All welcome.More »
